Maxpedition 0424B Colossus Versipack Black

Maxpedition 0424B Colossus Versipack Black

read a review on this saying a user had trouble using this bag for a 1911 CCW bag. In the odd times when I need to carry off body, I put a Springfield XDM 4.5" barrel in this bag WITH a full sized fixed blade in the same back zipper pocket and have no problem removing it quickly with one hand in a cross body draw. I did tie a longer piece of cord to the zipper so it's easy to grab and pull open with no mistaken pocket problems or tiny cord issues. Put a full hand of cord on there that is easily identified and you are good to go. The bag is stiff at first, but that is because it is quality made and needs to be broken in over time. There is no PERFECT off body CCW solution, but this is pretty darn good. It would be extremely difficult to remove this from your body or cut it off your shoulder without a serious struggle; a primary concern to me in off body carry. It's not gonna carry the kitchen sink, but its good for wallet, light, your licensed concealed carry piece, a snack and a few extras. I've been known to put diapers in it, use it as a range bag, etc. I would only CCW in the rear zipper pocket. The main compartment is not fast enough to open. But as per previous reviewer, I don't carry a bazooka or a 1911 so I can't speak to that. full size double stack 9mm with a big ole knife: no problem.

  2. I use this for my EDC bag. It goes everywhere I do. It is built tough and will last. I also have a bottle holder and a FR1 first aid pouch on the sides. Just think when you are loading it up. It can get heavy fast with all the room. With this bag and it's contents I am ready for what ever the day throws at me.
One reason I picked this bag over other Versipacks was the fact that it is ambidextrous.

  3. It is small but everthing that I need fits inside nicely. My handgun fits beautifully as well in either compartment.

  4. I couldn't be happier. The bag is padded to protect my tablet, has MOLLE webbing so I can add most any pouch I want, and all in all is comfortable. It also holds my communications equipment out of the way but easily accessible. My favorite part is that it has a zippered main compartment, whereas most bags have the flap over the top with a buckle. This is much more secure.

  5. I bought this bag (to use in place a Vesipack Jumbo E.D.C I was using...which I was -not- happy with due to what I consider some design flaws) and I could not be more pleased with this bag. This bag is -much- more versatile than the Jumbo E.D.C. not to mention much more weatherproof due to the zippered main compartment. Awesome bag...getcha one.

  6. I use this pack everyday. I push it into a locker at work, it carries my lunch, medicine, pistol, sunglasses and all the other little things I use everyday. It has worked flawlessly and for the price this is a great deal.

  7. Okay, I gave the Colossus the full five stars, since it is a great product, with lots of features and possible connection points, and seems really strong for rough use.

    However...

It's just about the ugliest pack I've ever carried!!!

Now, ugly may not matter to you, since functionality may matter most. But, after a while, I just got tired of looking at the thing...and so I ordered a Jumbo S-Type Versipack...which actually has about the same amount of total storage room as the Colossus, comes in all sorts of colors, and costs thirty dollars less to boot.

Anyway, I'm liking my stylish Jumbo Versipack better than the strictly functional Colossus, and i no longer have to look like I've got a dammm cinder block strapped around my neck.

    :)

Most Convenient

Garmin Approach Watch Preloaded Courses I have a golf GPS that requires me to download the course information before I can play for the first time. That process isn't simple or without problems. This Garmin S1 is the easiest thing to use. You turn it on, tell it you want to play a round of golf (since it comes up in watch mode) and it displays a list of the courses nearby. So if you are at a golf course when you tell it you want to play, you don't have to go searching for the course you want to play, it is already on the top of the list you select from. If there is more than one course nearby, as there is at my golf club, the different courses will be listed for you to choose from with the closest first. Using the S1 during play couldn't be easier either. You don't have to change holes manually, it knows where you are and therefore what hole you are on. You can change the holes manually, but it isn't necessary under most circumstances. I...

Great set of basic features

Garmin 4 3 Inch Portable Navigator Lifetime This was to be my first GPS and I wanted outstanding performance in a 5 inch screen, but didn't want or need anything fancy (like Bluetooth, etc) but did want lifetime maps. The Garmin nuvi 50LM was the perfect choice and I have not been disappointed. It is easy to use, fast and accurate. The screen is bright with excellent contrast. It is 'turn by turn" and specifically mentions the names of the streets. The default voice is strong and easy tonhear/understand. Overall, the Garmin nuvi 50LM is simple, basic and outstanding. I also bought the "beanbag" mount for the top of the dashboard and it is GREAT!! It makes is so easy to remove the GPS from sight when parked or after use, plus move the Garmin nuvi 50LM from vehicle to vehicle. In my opinion, the Garmin 50LM is the best value for money for basic "no frills" automotive GPS. I am very pleased with the Garmin nuvi 50LM and my choice in buyin...
