Bushnell Plus Golf Rangefinder Watch
I was specifically looking for a golf gps watch to replace my old sky caddie sg2. No complaints about the sky caddie, except for the membership dues i've been paying for the last 10 years. I only had to replace the battery once, and the yardages seemed spot on. The idea of a golf gps watch seems like a good idea. No leaving it at the house or in the cart , it's always right there on your wrist. It came down to the garmin approach s1 or the new bushnell neo plus. The garmin had been around for a while and had great reviews. Only real complaints were with the battery life. The neo boasted much greater battery life and was also 50 bucks cheaper, but also new and untested by the public(no reviews). I see there has already been one review and not such a good one. So here's my take. The watch arrived ready to go, right out of the box, as advertised. Upon arriving at my course, the gps locked on my course within a few minutes, advanced to the next hole as advertised, and the yardages seemed equivalent to my sky caddie. And at the end of the round (3.5 hours), i still have a full charge for next time. So all in all, I couldn't be happier. However, I have only used the neo once, and at one course, so I will try to keep the readers of these reviews advised on how it continues to hold up.
UPDATE: JUNE 21,2012 I've played about six times now, at three different courses, and the neo is still working great. I'm really impressed with the battery life. I've gotten four rounds out of one charge and still had battery life left. Each round takes us about 3.5 to 4 hours. I also leave the watch on all the time when not playing( in watch mode). The gps has locked onto whatever course i happen to be at, and the yardages still seem correct. So no complaints so far. I will try to update this review again at the end of the summer.

My husband loves this watch for playing golf! I use it also, to track my mileage when biking around the neighborhood. The numbers are large, easy to ready, the watch was easy to program.
ReplyDeleteThis product is everything it is advertised to be. It is a major step up in golf rangefinders. The charging connection could be improved on future versions.
ReplyDeleteExtremely helpful on home club lacking GPS on carts also minimal markers on course. Comfortable to wear and very easy to use. Charges quickly.
ReplyDeleteThis watch works as advertised. It picks up all the area courses in less than a minute. Yardages appear to be accurate. It's convenient and easy to use. The battery lasts for about 13 hours in GPS mode and recharges in about an hour. I'm completely satisfied.
ReplyDeletenew unit came with new .3 version. No registration necessary, never need to sync it with igolf. Took 5 minutes to figure it all out. Took it to a course with GPS Carts and it was right on the button. Easy to use and figure out. Update: Played 3 rounds, (about 10hrs) battery life still at 40%. Also on some courses if green and next tee are relatively close , must manually advance to next hole.
ReplyDeleteThis is the first review I have ever written on a product. I am extremely satisfied with this watch and would strongly recommend it to anyone looking for super-convenient, no-frills yardage to the green. I actually have owned a SkyCaddie SGX (piece of junk in my opinion) and also have the GolfShot GPS app for the iPhone (an excellent product in my opinion), but frankly became tired of the dismal battery life and inconvenience of fumbling around trying to find a device etc... The Bushnell Neo + is a very high quality, reliable, and easy to use, and super-convenient option for any golfer looking for basic yardage to the green information. And the battery life is phenomenal. Two thumbs up!
ReplyDeleteEverytime I have used this watch, it has worked perfectly!
ReplyDeleteMy Neo watch picked up GPS signal within 30 seconds the first time I ever used it. Now, it picks it up almost instantly (maybe 10 seconds or so).
I play 4 local courses, and I usually golf about twice a week. The yardages provided by the Neo have been spot on accurate at every course. One particular day, I decided to go ahead and play 36 holes, and I still had 50% battery life showing at the end! Absolutely amazing...
I'll never use another bulky hand-held GPS or laser rangefinder again! The Neo watch makes it so simple: strap it to your wrist and golf!
I love this GPS! First of all, I received it 3 days after ordering it. Thank you Amazon. It's a watch, an odometer, and a range finder all in one! Second, it is very easy to use. I love the fact that the yardage is right there on my wrist and I don't have to wait for someone to fumble around and waste time looking through a view finder. On the downside, downloading the software for the driver to sync the watch to igolf was not as easy as it was written to be, but then I'm not that computer savvy.
