Love it!

Garmin Quick Release Kit 910XT I've ridden the Cycleops Powercal with a Garmin Edge 500 for the past couple of weeks and, at this point, I'd have to say I am very happy with it. Getting it set up and synced with my Garmin device was remarkably easy and took only minutes. It took longer to reconfigure the "screens" on the Edge to include the new power data. I'm unable to compare it to the MUCH more expensive PowerTap product line (there are some excellent reviews on the 'net where engineer types compare the PowerCal very favorably with PowerTap and SRM type strain gauge based power meters) but for $100 I believe this to be a solid entry into the art of training with power. One of the excellent features of the PowerCal is the ability to easily transfer your power workout from one bike to another without having to change wheel s (PowerTap) or cranksets (SRM). All you will need is additional mounting hardware for your Ant+ device - very inexpensive. C...

This product works for me

Very good phone

Kyocera Rise Prepaid Android Virgin I've been using this phone for a couple of weeks and I'm new to Virgin Mobile as well. The Kyocera Rise and Virgin Mobile has not let me down. Both phone and service has been dependable where I live/play. The battery life out of the box is OK but I did download and use Juice Defender, and this has extended the battery life to about 24 hours. It has been able to pick up WIFI flawlessly, 3G when needed and voice quality, according to friends, is normal. I would not hesitate recommending this phone! One quirk I have stumbled across, the phone did lock up on me twice. Both times I was playing around and toggled the WIFI option on/off and put the phone asleep, each time when trying to wake phone it froze and I had to take battery out/replace. I stopped toggling the WIFI (it's automatic when set to on) and I have not had one issue since. (I also decided to use pin instead of swipe for security) Also, it takes about 2 hours to fully ...

Best value for the money

Garmin 1450LMT Portable Navigator Lifetime Couldn't decide which GPS would be better for a huge sales trip to a new state, Florida, so we bought them both to try out. We logged 1900 miles with the TomTom and about 1600 with the Garmin. In short, they're both extremely good and very close to each other. In practice the only real difference is that it was a bit easier to find addresses with the Garmin. That's partially a result of entering them street number first, then the street name--as they're usually written. On the TomTom you enter the street name first, then the number. Also, Garmin just automatically figured out what I was looking for better. We have a hard time deciding against the TomTom though because of its traffic features. It automatically redirected us when we hit traffic. The Garmin is supposed to do that, but the TomTom is better. For instance, we were really pressed for time heading back to the airport. The TomTom wanted to pop over to a differ...

Great navigation assistance in The Land Down Under

Garmin Navigator Australia Zealand microSD I don't think I can say enough good about this Australian mapping program. My family and I visited Australia the first couple of weeks of August. We flew into Sydney, then drove from Sydney to Jindabyne, then to Thredbo Ski Area, then back to Sydney. Then we flew to Cairns, drove all around there, as well as up into the Daintree National Park (and World Heritage Site). While in Sydney we drove around quite a bit. The streets, the directions, the spoken directions were just perfect. I have to admit, I was completely turned around, but the maps got us right where we needed to be. We installed the maps on my cheapo Nuvi 1300. They installed just fine through the Garmin Mapsource program. I had little hope for the maps (after a disastrous experience we had in Japan last Summer - 2010), but I was very pleasantly surprised. Everything was perfect about the program. The directions, the various roads, the spoken directions (with an Austra...

Better than a suction cup!

i Trek IG PSTARA Garmin Sticky Mount In deciding to purchase a Garmin Nuvi, I also researched many different mounts to try and find the perfect set-up to use in my older Ford Explorer. I didn't want to glue a disc to the top of my dash.. and in fact there aren't a lot of flat areas to use near the driver in this vehicle. The vent clip mount was spectacularly unsuccessful! Luckily, one of my purchases (as a matter of fact the most inexpensive of all) was this ChargerCity Adhesive Mount. I found the underside of a flat ridge, just below the radio, big enough to place this mount. I had already decided that I would also sink a small 3/8" metal screw into each corner of the mounting plate, just to be sure that it didn't loosen.. but the 3M adhesive that is used on this mount is some serious glue. I don't believe I would have needed to add the screws. In fact be sure it's where you want it when you peel the paper and place it. I would hate to try and wrestle ...

Everything you need, no frills

IZZO Swami 4000 Golf GPS I bought this because the negative reviews did not question the products reliability. The complaints were mainly about unavailable golf courses. I was able to check on the Izzo web site that the courses I needed were on the unit. The unit can take a few minutes to find the course but that is not a problem. The unit has been reliable and the battery should last for a couple of 18 hole rounds. The charger is a simple USB unit and chargers for other products work. I think the belt clip is a clumsy design but I just put it in my pocket. Some units give more information such as a map showing bunkers and water. This unit shows only the distance from where you are to the front, center and rear of the green. The unit has a shot distance feature that I find useful. It has a feature called "scorecard" which is either useless or I don't know how to use it. I did not think the instructions were very good and no information was given on how to attach...

Best SatNav Yet!

Garmin Portable Bluetooth Navigator Lifetime After reading reviews I was skeptical, that this garmin would be better than our old one. Here's my summary: updating- took maybe a half hour and it was super easy- cord is included to plug into computer, you go to site and follow the clear instructions from the website. The screen is beautifully , clear quality, nice colors, glass and touch screen perfect. Clarity of color and screen reminds me of my iPad. It's super easy to use, just like before.3d effect on screen is cool, it acquires signal way faster then my old one. In the bright sunlight, it has been clear as can be. Sound is clear and loud, even with the music on. Pairing phone to it was easy. I like the part where It shows the next road coming up across top of screen. It also prompts, you earlier and better, then my older garmin . I'm glad I bought it. I like that you can choose different icons and screen displays and voice. Buy it you won't regret it....

Buh-Bye, Garmin. See ya, Polar. Very Impressive & Multi-Sport!

Motorola MOTOACTV Edition Sports Player I bought this watch about month ago. No problems in connecting via wifi or through PC. updating to new software was not a problem I have taken my watch to my golf course and I find it better than garmin in terms of features. Expect to charge the battery every day if you are using gps either walking, golf ing or Mp3 use while doing sport s activities. I don't find it annoying to charge as I have the same issues with my cell phones. Bluetooth works with my iPhone and headphones. I note that while it found my golf course quickly upon arrival at the course, the par numbers for some of the holes were not accurate. I tried to revise the pars hoping that it will retain the revised pars for the next game but it does not seem to work. Also, the watch does not give hazard distances for my course. Although it does not bother me but it would be nice for Motorola to have better golf courses database to match with the other s...

Battery Replacement Kit for Garmin NUVI 200 with Installation Video

Replacement Garmin Nuvi 200 Installation Very straight forward. I reviewed the on line video before purchasing. The plastic case splitter "tool" was sturdy - thank you. I've read about some other suppliers kits not very sturdy. The torax tool was on the money also good quality. The provided screw driver was a little undersized so I grabbed one of mine. There is nothing special about the phillips it was a fairly common small screw. I believe an amateur would have good luck with this kit. I warmed up the label area with a hair dryer first. Don't know if that helped or hurt but based on past expreience thought it the best way to go. Peeled off nicely and re-applied nicely. I would pry in areas away from the switch and memory card. I was somewhat agressive in my approach and did have some very small chipped finish areas by the seams. Totally my fault and a credit to the Garmin quality. I like the Garmin and I liked the kit. Glad to have the Garmin back in producti...

Great set of basic features

Garmin 4 3 Inch Portable Navigator Lifetime This was to be my first GPS and I wanted outstanding performance in a 5 inch screen, but didn't want or need anything fancy (like Bluetooth, etc) but did want lifetime maps. The Garmin nuvi 50LM was the perfect choice and I have not been disappointed. It is easy to use, fast and accurate. The screen is bright with excellent contrast. It is 'turn by turn" and specifically mentions the names of the streets. The default voice is strong and easy tonhear/understand. Overall, the Garmin nuvi 50LM is simple, basic and outstanding. I also bought the "beanbag" mount for the top of the dashboard and it is GREAT!! It makes is so easy to remove the GPS from sight when parked or after use, plus move the Garmin nuvi 50LM from vehicle to vehicle. In my opinion, the Garmin 50LM is the best value for money for basic "no frills" automotive GPS. I am very pleased with the Garmin nuvi 50LM and my choice in buyin...

Never lost...

Garmin Oregon 450 Handheld Navigator The only negative with this GPS is that the user's booklet doesn't give very much information. The manual on disk is a "4" on a scale of 1 to 5 (5 being the best). However, the GPS is easy to use and most of the menu items are pretty much self-explanatory. Having the TOPO maps included is a big plus. If you were to buy the more inexpensive 450T and have to buy the maps for various regions you could easily spend far more to have maps for the entire U.S. than what this device costs. The scale is acceptable, the contour intervals are not as good as a USGS map of course, but you do have the option to purchase more detailed map (at at least $99 a "pop"). I've found that I don't really need that much detail. As a backpacker, I found setting a route using my own waypoints to be a great asset. I've also used this GPS for geocaching and it is pretty accurate. The camera is another plus, the detail is good enoug...

Love it. Few flaws I can live with

Garmin Widescreen Bluetooth Portable Navigator I now own 4 Garmin GPS with this being the newest one. I will get right down to the point of interest as to why this GPS is one of the BEST out today. I bought this not too long ago and have been testing every aspect of the GPS. I will rectify the Free Lifetime Traffic first due to its mass complain about the pop ads. Will like they say nothing is free without string attached, I have used it on 2 hour destination on heavy traffic areas and the pop ads rarely pops up and it only pops up when completely stop arriving to your destination and when you first start the ignition and the Garmin boots to the main menu screen, all you have to do is click on view map or other buttons to get rid of the pop ups and most of the time the pop doesn't even pop on start ups. I think that it is a very small price to pay for lifetime traffic, Garmin would not be able to support free lifetime service without funding from ads. Duuhh! Really guys the ads a...

Finally... A near perfect GPS... UPDATE: IT'S PERFECT!

A good choice

Garmin eTrex Worldwide Handheld Navigator As with any electronic device, it takes some learning and getting used to. Give it a chance is all I am saying. The Etrex 20 has been out with me geocaching, hiking, and scouting for about a week now. I have used it quite a bit in the little time I have had it. It has proven to be a very good unit. Satellite signal is very good and does not appear to be hindered by heavy cover. I have on several oc casio ns, gotten a signal inside a house. The screen is very easily read- even in direct sunlight. I got the bundle package with the Topo US 100K maps and while it's not as detailed as 1:24K, it's still pretty darn good and quite accurate. Very well priced compared to buying the GPS and mapping software separate. I will say that it took me a minute and some questions to GPS forums to figure out how to get this unit to talk to Google Earth and import/ export data from Google Earth. But once you learn how, it's incredible. You can ...

Great tablet!

Google Nexus Tablet 16 GB I'm a grandma who loves gadgets (have to keep up with the grand kids :) and when I read all the info on this new Google Nexus 7 tablet, I decided I would like to try one. I have a desk top, 2 laptops , a netbook, a Kindle Touch, and a smart phone so why I needed this tablet, I just don't know. But being the gadget person that I am, I wanted it. Have only had it for a few days (got it for my 70th birthday) but so far it is great. Fast, clear, easy to use and learn and I love the 7 inch screen. It is big enough to see and read clearly yet small enough to stick in my purse. My gd has the Fire which I like but this Nexus 7 is lighter and easier to handle. It will do everything that I need; cruise the net, read books, watch movies, access my 2 email accounts, has lots of storage (16GB) for my grand kids pics and music. My son who is an engineer and is quite computer knowledgeable, says it's Jelly Bean OS is great and he is waiting...

Bushnell neo plus

Bushnell Plus Golf Rangefinder Watch I was specifically looking for a golf gps watch to replace my old sky caddie sg2. No complaints about the sky caddie, except for the membership dues i've been paying for the last 10 years. I only had to replace the battery once, and the yardages seemed spot on. The idea of a golf gps watch seems like a good idea. No leaving it at the house or in the cart , it's always right there on your wrist. It came down to the garmin approach s1 or the new bushnell neo plus. The garmin had been around for a while and had great reviews. Only real complaints were with the battery life. The neo boasted much greater battery life and was also 50 bucks cheaper, but also new and untested by the public(no reviews). I see there has already been one review and not such a good one. So here's my take. The watch arrived ready to go, right out of the box, as advertised. Upon arriving at my course, the gps locked on my course with...

Excellent!

TomTom 1605TM Navigator Lifetime Traffic This is the fourth TomTom I've had and I am happiest with this one. I like this layout by far the best, but there are a few minor features I'd like to see included: 1. I miss not having a compass the most. Some drivers really do like to know which direction we're going. 2. I absolutely love the size. I have gotten to the age where I need reading glasses when I read, yet I can actually operate and see the screen when I am driving. For this reason alone, this GPS is by far the best GPS. One thing I would like to see is an option to increase the font size, especially on the roads you will be turning onto that appear at the top of the unit. 3. When I am originally inserting the location, I would like the option of turning off toll roads before it does the calculation. There is a toll road near my house that costs $5 and saves me 1 minute of driving time. The TomTom always make the calculation using this toll road and then asks me if I ...

Great GPS

Garmin 2555LMT Portable Navigator Lifetime What prompted my purchase of the Garmin Nuvi 2555LMT specifically was one, my familiarity with Garmin, and two, the lifetime map and traffic updates. I have two older Garmin units on which I have not updated the maps for a number of years due to the cost of $80/ year. This unit has easy to navigate screens and provides information which is easy to absorb with a quick glance. The "Lane Navigator" is one of my favorite features. It lets me know if the exit is a right or left exit and how many lanes are used for the exit. The photo realistic view actually looks very similar to the exit lanes themselves! The traffic feature is also a great feature, but has a minor bug or two. I found myself approaching a very recent accident and an alert appeared on the GPS, which I thought was rather impressive. In other cases, the traffic alert has indicated slow traffic ahead, which has typically been the case, but other times has already clea...

Great bag, built like a tank.

Maxpedition 0424B Colossus Versipack Black read a review on this saying a user had trouble using this bag for a 1911 CCW bag. In the odd times when I need to carry off body, I put a Springfield XDM 4.5" barrel in this bag WITH a full sized fixed blade in the same back zipper pocket and have no problem removing it quickly with one hand in a cross body draw. I did tie a longer piece of cord to the zipper so it's easy to grab and pull open with no mistaken pocket problems or tiny cord issues. Put a full hand of cord on there that is easily identified and you are good to go. The bag is stiff at first, but that is because it is quality made and needs to be broken in over time. There is no PERFECT off body CCW solution, but this is pretty darn good. It would be extremely difficult to remove this from your body or cut it off your shoulder without a serious struggle; a primary concern to me in off body carry. It's not gonna carry the kitchen sink, but its good for w...

Most Convenient

Garmin Approach Watch Preloaded Courses I have a golf GPS that requires me to download the course information before I can play for the first time. That process isn't simple or without problems. This Garmin S1 is the easiest thing to use. You turn it on, tell it you want to play a round of golf (since it comes up in watch mode) and it displays a list of the courses nearby. So if you are at a golf course when you tell it you want to play, you don't have to go searching for the course you want to play, it is already on the top of the list you select from. If there is more than one course nearby, as there is at my golf club, the different courses will be listed for you to choose from with the closest first. Using the S1 during play couldn't be easier either. You don't have to change holes manually, it knows where you are and therefore what hole you are on. You can change the holes manually, but it isn't necessary under most circumstances. I...

Terrific Product

Bracketron RWA 201 BL Golf Mount Grip iT I did a lot of research before selecting this Garmin G-5. I was particularly concerned that some owners said it was hard to see in the sun, etc. I'm over 70 with mediocre vision and I had no trouble at all. The most you have to do is tilt it a bit one way or the other and it's very easy to see. The thing I liked the best about the G-5 was it's ease of operation. The best single feature, I think, is the ability to measure the drives of all members of your group (assuming you all use the same teebox) with just a couple taps on the screen. All six friends I've played with so far quite enjoyed that. I also liked the "heft" of the unit. It has good weight to it and you can tell tactilely and visually that it's not just a cheap piece of plastic. I also have a good range finder and by using it in conjunction with the G-5 I gained additional help with shots to the green. Because the range finder, of course,...

Great product

Replacement Nuvi 360 Installation Extended Out of the box the batteries that came in this GPS unit were dead. The box did include a $2 coupon for more though. Once I got some batteries in it, I started it up and checked it out. I decided not to get the Geocache 1 month membership until I knew how to use it. The first thing I did was take some pictures, and that is incredibly easy. There's no flash, but with good lighting the picture quality is great and it is easy to hold the camera and just mash the camera button on the side. Getting them to the computer is as easy as hooking up the included usb cable and looking in the folders of the devise as if it was a flash drive. I've not owned a GPS before, and this is my first. I'm one of those people who will always attempt to use something before I read the manual. I had to read it for this one, but it is short and sweet and the main thing was just that a TAP on the screen brings up the main 4 menu options. After that ...
