Bushnell Grylls Edition Personal Tracking
got this for my father in law for Christmas. he goes hunting a lot, and one of his hunting trip it got dark on him and almost didn't make it back to camp. which would have made his wife happy, but his daughter (my wife) upset. I looked and researched several GPS devices, and picked this one out cause it is very easy to use,you see my father in law is a simpleton but I love the lug, and didn't want him to ever feel the way he did that day. last deer season he pushed the limits of time again and it got dark on him fast, but this device has a back home button that brought him back to camp albeit late and dark, fact is he made it safe and with the help of something I got him, and that's the bear ggrylls personal device. it's the greatest gift a hunter can get, beside a field full of deer.

This is a basic GPS, which meets my needs as a property owner. I have 60 acres of woods (amid a large state forest area), and I wanted to be able to mark my property line accurately. This device allows you to establish a home position, plus 4 additional points, which you can return to from anywhere. So I marked my cabin, then each of the 4 corners of the property. Now I can plot a direct line for each side. It doesn't have the bells and whistles of more expensive GPS models, but it has all I need.
ReplyDeleteThe Bushnell Back Track works well, will get you back to where you want. This a simple GPS that is a no brainer. I own other GPSs with more features however I seldom use it and when I do I must review the manual. No so with this Back Track, it is simple to use and it gets you to the points you entered. Once you are moving it points the direction accurately, remember to keep it away from your metal rifle or you will get faulty direction. This edition has 5 waypoints; I like that better than the 3 waypoint edition as I keep the hunting cabin, my deerstand, my ATV, plus 2 others you can use when tracking, or driving deer. You also have elevation, temperature and time. Buy it, you won't be disappointed, just remember it is a basic GPS only.
ReplyDeleteAfter owning the new Garmin 62s, I really enjoyed the simple approach to back tracking using the Bushnell Bear Grylls unit.
ReplyDeleteSince I am an old person, it took me a few days to get use to this item. Now, I take this unit with me every were and I no longer get lost.
The two most important things to remember about this item is, ensure the battery new and get a signal on the unit before you start.
I would recommend this unit to any person that does hiking, biking or any outdoor activity.
My husband purchased this to go hunting in new areas. He said it is simple to use, and has worked great for him every time he's used it. You can track from when you leave your vehicle, till you reach your dstination, then it will showw the reverse way back.I think people wondering into the woods, or around a strange town, would find this helpful.

ReplyDeleteComes with a special tube so you can either drink your own urine, or give yourself a birdshit water enema. Love it!
ReplyDeleteBought this about a month ago (mainly bc my husband and I are outdoor enthusiasts and are also fans of BG)and have used it several times - in Banff on vaca and then again while biking through trails around our home in Missouri. Loved the ability to connect to the PC when we got home and view our trip also allowed us to explore without having to memorize where we were and how to get back.
ReplyDeleteI paid $129.00 but there was no rebate when I purchased. Overall, we were happy with it.
