Garmin Carabiner Colorado Approach Handheld
I bought this about a month ago and have found it to be an excellent product. Unlike some of the other reviews for me it starts right up and is ready to do. The first few round that I used it I carried it in my pocket and I found that it took a few seconds to pinpoint the distance when I pulled it out. Since then I have a cradle for it on my push cart and there is no longer a delay in finding the distance to the green. When I was carrying it in my pocket I sometimes forgot that it even there because it is so light. Prior to buying this I had a SkyCaddie SGX and a G4 both very good divises but I was getting tired of the annual membership fees and the limited number of courses that these units could hold and the failure on SkyCaddies part to deliver some of the things that were promised when I bought the SGX when they first came out. Last September I had to replace my SGX for a problem and it cost me $99, then in February after not using it that much over the winter the toggle button fell off and they wanted another $99 to replace this used unit plus my three year membership was expiring at a cost of another $149 so instead of spending close to $250 for a used unit I spent close to $300 for a new unit with no annual membership fees and this unit works great, I love the touch screen, it makes it so easy to use.

Its nice, I didn't know my colorado came with one so I bought this one, Its the same one that came in the box with my gps.
ReplyDeleteGreat way to restrain your Garmin. I use a different carabiner, but most reliable way to hang onto your GPS
ReplyDeleteThis mount is included with the Colorado series receivers. I use it all the time, especially when kayaking because I can clip it to the deck rigging with the receiver oriented to face me.
ReplyDeleteThe clip itself has a soft-to-the-touch brushed aluminum feel to it, and so far has responded pretty well to the abuse that I've thrown at it, including significant amounts of time around salt water.
This clip holds my Garmin Approach securely. I can clip to my golf bag when I am walking, and not worry about it falling off, or getting damaged. Prompt delivery from Amazon.
ReplyDeleteI did some research and found out the part number for this mount matches the part number for the Garmin oregon mount. Upon usage, the carabiner works perfectly on my oregon 200.
ReplyDeleteWanted something to secure my new Garmon Approach golf GPS. This carabiner fit the bill. I can clip it to my belt or hang it from my cart. Perfect product at a reasonable price.
ReplyDeleteAlthough it states it's for Colorado series, the mount is interchangeable with Oregon series which is what my Approach G5 is based on.
ReplyDeleteI got one of these with my Colorado when it was new, but lost it. I bought another and this one works better. The original was too tight and was a little resistive when putting it on and taking it off. This one easily slides on and off. Last week, I found the original and now I have two. I grabbed one of them the other day and tried to slide it on and immediately realized it was the original due to its tighter fit. I removed it and immediately grabbed this replacement.
ReplyDeleteI was a little worried if this would stay put on my golf bag as I have an electric remote controlled cart that I walk a very challenging mountain course with over 40 times a year. Sometimes I forget to watch my cart and it tips over on a steep embankment. After a full season with this it has never came off even when the cart went over.
